LOUIS S. MELTZ
Louis S. Meltz is a founding partner of Seham, Seham, Meltz &
Petersen; he also serves as President of American Maritime Safety,
a large U.S. based trade association established by vessel operators
to facilitate the maritime industry’s compliance with state
and federal regulations. An internationally recognized authority
on regulatory compliance, Mr. Meltz regularly conducts seminars
on compliance issues for deep-sea vessel operators, tug and barge
companies, charters and freight forwarders, both in the United States
and abroad. Mr. Meltz strongly believes that the interests of an
organization are best served when that organization develops and
implements preventative procedures that serve to minimize potential
risks and vulnerability to lawsuits. Therefore, Mr. Meltz encourages
his clients to develop and implement personnel policies and training
programs on such topics as workplace discrimination, exposure to
hazardous materials, drug and alcohol abuse, the American with Disabilities
Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Family Medical and Leave
Act.
